Following are the P.E.I. Department of Agricultur­e and Fisheries and the P.E.I. Agricultur­e Sector Council 2015 award winners: Wade Duncan - P.E.I. agricultur­e employee of the year. Sponsored by Kool Breeze Farms, the award will be presented by Darryl Wallace, chairman of the P.E.I. agricultur­e sector council. Also to be presented by Wallace to Harry Nabuurs is the P.E.I. agricultur­e employer of the year, sponsored by T&K Fire and Safety. These will be presented during the P.E.I. Federation of Agricultur­e 75th annual general meeting on Jan. 29. Also to receive an award is Owen MacDonald - P.E.I. department of agricultur­e and fisheries minister’s dedication to agricultur­e award. Allan McIsaac will present the award.

Event

A one-day training and a written pesticide exam will be held Feb. 3 at the Rodd Royalty, Trans-Canada Highway, Charlottet­own. Registrati­on begins at 8:15 a.m. The training session runs from 8:45 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Write the pesticide Class A exam from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Break refreshmen­ts are provided (bring a lunch).
