Fol­low­ing are the P.E.I. Depart­ment of Agri­cul­ture and Fish­eries and the P.E.I. Agri­cul­ture Sec­tor Coun­cil 2015 award win­ners: Wade Dun­can - P.E.I. agri­cul­ture em­ployee of the year. Spon­sored by Kool Breeze Farms, the award will be pre­sented by Dar­ryl Wal­lace, chair­man of the P.E.I. agri­cul­ture sec­tor coun­cil. Also to be pre­sented by Wal­lace to Harry Nabu­urs is the P.E.I. agri­cul­ture em­ployer of the year, spon­sored by T&K Fire and Safety. Th­ese will be pre­sented dur­ing the P.E.I. Fed­er­a­tion of Agri­cul­ture 75th an­nual gen­eral meet­ing on Jan. 29. Also to re­ceive an award is Owen MacDon­ald - P.E.I. depart­ment of agri­cul­ture and fish­eries min­is­ter’s ded­i­ca­tion to agri­cul­ture award. Al­lan McIsaac will present the award.


A one-day train­ing and a writ­ten pes­ti­cide exam will be held Feb. 3 at the Rodd Roy­alty, Trans-Canada High­way, Char­lot­te­town. Reg­is­tra­tion be­gins at 8:15 a.m. The train­ing ses­sion runs from 8:45 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Write the pes­ti­cide Class A exam from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Break re­fresh­ments are pro­vided (bring a lunch).
