Following are the P.E.I. Department of Agriculture and Fisheries and the P.E.I. Agriculture Sector Council 2015 award winners: Wade Duncan - P.E.I. agriculture employee of the year. Sponsored by Kool Breeze Farms, the award will be presented by Darryl Wallace, chairman of the P.E.I. agriculture sector council. Also to be presented by Wallace to Harry Nabuurs is the P.E.I. agriculture employer of the year, sponsored by T&K Fire and Safety. These will be presented during the P.E.I. Federation of Agriculture 75th annual general meeting on Jan. 29. Also to receive an award is Owen MacDonald - P.E.I. department of agriculture and fisheries minister’s dedication to agriculture award. Allan McIsaac will present the award.

Event

A one-day training and a written pesticide exam will be held Feb. 3 at the Rodd Royalty, Trans-Canada Highway, Charlottetown. Registration begins at 8:15 a.m. The training session runs from 8:45 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Write the pesticide Class A exam from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Break refreshments are provided (bring a lunch).
