Support needed to complete annual campaign

-

The Upper Room Angels 27th annual fundraising campaign for the Upper Room Hospitality Ministry’s Food Bank and Soup Kitchen needs more support to reach this year’s goal.

The campaign began on Labour Day 2015 with a goal of $80,000 or 1,538 angels to be met by the end of December. There were 1,394 renewal memberships and 56 new members came aboard, bringing in a total of $77,130, a shortfall of $2,870.

It requires 55 more angels to make up the shortfall in order to continue weekly contributions to the ministry through to the end of December 2016.

The angels is a non-denominational group. The money raised contributes weekly to the purchase of food and supplies needed to assist the clients. The angels do not solicit by phone or house-to-house calls.

It is never too late to be an angel. Membership is $52 (one dollar for each week of the year). Any individual or group that would like to be an angel is encouraged to send a $52 cheque or money order to the Upper Room Angels, c/o the URHM Food Bank, 33 Belmont St., Charlottetown, P.E.I., C1A 5G9. Charitable receipts are issued.
