Mayor Clifford Lee is opening the doors at City Hall to host a welcome reception for all newcomers who have chosen to make Charlottetown their home.

The City of Charlottetown, in partnership with the P.E.I. Newcomers Association, has created this unique reception to extend a special welcome to newcomers who live and work in Charlottetown.

The Mayor’s Newcomer Reception will provide an opportunity to visit City Hall, tour council chambers and meet the mayor and xouncil members in a comfortable, informal setting.

The reception will be held on Thursday, Aug. 4, 4-6 p.m. at City Hall, 199 Queen St.

“We are always looking at ways to connect with the newcomer community and extend a special welcome to our city,” said Mayor Clifford Lee. “Whether they have lived in Charlottetown for a month or several years, there are always questions and new information that we can provide to the newcomer community to improve their quality of life. This reception provides a platform to share information about the city corporation and gather feedback from the community.”

During the reception, attendees will have the opportunity to tour City Hall. Information will also be provided on tour and orientation sessions that are scheduled to begin in the fall.
