Thank you to Island community

This is my last week working with the Canadian Cancer Society P.E.I. so I felt it important to extend a sincere thanks to the Island community.

I’m incredibly grateful for the progress we have made in the fight against cancer over the past five years — so many advancements in research, thousands of Islanders helped through our programs, many more educated about the power of prevention and new government policies created, including the establishment of the catastrophic drug program.

And this is all possible thanks to the thousands of volunteers and donors across this province who believe in the importance of the work we do. It has been a privilege to meet many of you, to hear your stories and to help shape the impact that your contributions make possible. While each and every one of us has personally felt the devastation of cancer, we have also seen the progress and the advancements being made. And that is what we must hold on to.

I hope you continue to support the great work of the Canadian Cancer Society and the countless other important charities across the Island. Most importantly, I wish each and every one you good health and much happiness.
