Golden Selects

The P.E.I. Selects won the gold medal in the Second Tier Division of the Softball Canada under-14 girls Canadian fastpitch jamboree in Winnipeg, Man., on Sunday. The Toronto Maple Leafs named Mark Hunter as their assistant general manager Monday. Hunter, who joined the Leafs as their playerpersonnel director in October 2014, will share the role with current assistant GM Kyle Dubas. Hunter will continue overseeing Toronto’s pro scouting, amateur scouting and player evaluation departments. Dubas will continue as GM of the AHL’s Toronto Marlies, overseeing all prospects within the club’s system while also leading the Maple Leafs’ player development, hockey research and development departments.
