Six people have now been arrested in connection to what police are describing as a robbery in St. Roch, near Tignish, early Monday morning.

The RCMP alleged Wednesday five people drove to a Clark Road residence in the West Prince community in the early Monday morning.

“One of the persons in the car knew the homeowner and arranged the meeting,” said RCMP Cpl. Craig Eveleigh with the RCMP’s major crime unit.

Police say two people entered the residence to meet with the homeowner while the other three remained in the vehicle.

Police have learned the two individuals were invited in, but once inside an altercation ensued and there was a struggle for a shotgun, which was in the residence.

No shots were fired and no serious injuries occurred.

The two males, who entered the residence, fled on foot.

The RCMP’s major crime unit, with assistance from its forensic identification section, the police service dog and East Prince RCMP, executed a search warrant on the residence and located ammunition and several shotguns.

“We’re just very lucky no one was seriously injured or even killed,” said Eveleigh, who indicated a couple of shotguns were loaded.

The home’s owner, Dylan Chaisson, 24, has been charged with various weapon-related offences, assault and uttering threats. He is scheduled to appear in Summerside provincial court on Friday.

Riley Callin, 19, from the Charlottetown area, has been remanded into custody since his arrest.

He will also be appearing in court on Friday, charged with robbery.

Four other individuals, three 18-year-old males from Summerside, Hunter River and Hope River and a 19-year-old female from St. Catherines, were arrested and released on a promise to appear.

Charges are pending and they are scheduled to appear in Summerside provincial court on Dec. 15.
