Miltonvale wellfield projects going ahead
The City of Charlottetown is continuing construction of the Miltonvale wellfield, recently announcing it has received funding from the clean water and wastewater fund.
The transmission and distribution work consists of installing the water supply pipes from the new wellfield into the city at a projected cost of $5.25 million.
Duffy Construction Limited has been awarded the construction tender and Cole Associates are providing consulting engineering services.
The mechanical and electrical part of the project will cost a projected $2.8 million. This project will provide the equipment and electrical supply for the new wellfield, including pumps and treatment systems.
WM&M Limited has been awarded the construction tender and Cole Associates are providing consulting engineering services.
The federal government will cover 50 per cent of the total cost of the projects with the province and the city each contributing 25 per cent.
