The funeral for Harold Lee was held on Thursday, April 13, 2017 from the Hennessey Cutcliffe Charlottet­own Funeral Home to St. Pius X Church where the funeral mass was celebrated by Reverend Maurice Praught who also delivered the homily. The funeral pall was placed on Mr. Lee’s casket by his daughters Susan Clory, Cathy MacIntyre and Debbie Lee. The first reading was proclaimed by granddaugh­ter Erin Blanchard and the second reading was proclaimed by daughter-in-law Kimmy Griffith. The prayers of the faithful were offered by David Blacquiere. The funeral mass was sung by St. Pius X Choir under the direction of Eileen Flanagan. The organist was Karen Power and violinist was Frank Leckowich. They rendered the entrance hymn, How Great Thou Art, the offertory hymn, Abide With Me, the communion hymn, Amazing Grace and the recessiona­l hymn, Old Rugged Cross. The pallbearer­s were grandsons, Matthew Lee, Owen Lee, Jamie Lee, Josh Clory, nephew Jason Lee and family friend Angus Kennedy. The flower bearers were grandchild­ren Michael Clory, Andrew MacIntyre, Eddie Lee, Mark Lee and Patrick Lee. Honorary pallbearer­s were everyone in attendance. An honour guard, consisting of members of the Charlottet­own Police and Fire Department, was formed at the church. Among those attending the funeral was His Honour Lieutenant-Governor Frank Lewis, Premier Wade MacLaughli­n, MLA Robert Mitchell, Chief of Staff Robert Vessey and members of Charlottet­own City Council. Also representa­tives of City Hall staff, Holland College, P.E.I Liquor Control Commission, Health P.E.I. and Amalgamate­d Dairies Limited. The interment will take place in the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Charlottet­own.
