Loving grandfather of 19 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.Also survived by his sister, Phyllis (Ralph Sr.) Josey: brothers and sisters-in-law Eugene McNeill, Mary Long, Joe (Sylvia) Thistle and Mark (Betty) Thistle. Predeceased by his parents Leo and Esther (nee Doncaster) Dowling; brothers, Jimmy Dowling and Kelvin Dowling; sisters, Dolores McNeill and Sheila Thomson. Resting at Hennessey Cutcliffe Charlottetown Funeral Home until Monday morning, then transferred to St. Dunstan’s Basilica for funeral mass at 10 a.m. Interment to follow in the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Charlottetown. Visiting hours on Sunday 2 - 4 & 7 - 9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made Canadian Diabetes Association.
