Saturday, May 6, for the Milton Community Hall lobster take-out, Tickets are $20 (1 pound fresh lobster, cracked, in the shell, salads, roll and dessert). Drop by the hall or check with someone on the hall committee to buy tickets by May 3 for $20. Meals can be picked up at the hall on Saturday, 3-4 p.m., or arrangemen­ts can be made for local delivery (902-566-3154). This event is dependent on the opening date of the season.

Sunday, May 7, for the fifth annual Hike for Hospice Palliative Care to kick off Hospice Palliative Care Week to be held in Summerside. Registrati­on ($20) is at the Shipyard Market on Water Street at 1:30 p.m. The hike will start at 2 p.m. and follow the Summerside Boardwalk. Visit the Hospice P.E.I. Facebook page or www.hospicepei.ca for informatio­n. All money raised will remain on P.E.I. to support Islanders living with a lifelimiti­ng illness and their loved ones.

Sunday, May 7, for the 16th annual Walk so Kids Can Talk fundraiser at Victoria Park in Charlottet­own and at the Rodd Mill River Resort in Woodstock for Kids Help Phone. Registrati­on begins at noon. Visit www. walksokids­cantalk.ca.

Tuesday, May 9, 6 p.m., for the North Milton meet-your neighbour pot luck and silent auction at the Milton Community Hall. Bring a dish to share and have supper with friends and neighbours. A seniors dinner, featuring a boneless chicken breast, is being put on by the Seniors Group of Holy Redeemer at the Jack Blanchard Family Centre on Pond Street, Charlottet­own, May 2, 4:30 p.m. The price will be $12. Tickets can be reserved by calling David at 892-1558 by the 5 p.m. deadline on April 30.

Dessert and a Makeover benefiting the Mary Kay Ash Charitable Foundation is May 1, 7 p.m., at the Kensington Legion 88 Victoria St. West. JoDee Samuelson, a graduate of the Institute of Island Studies who studied the history of the watermills of Prince Edward Island and Gotland Island, Sweden during her master’s thesis will present “Powered by Water: The Mills of the Hillsborou­gh on May 1 at Beaconsfie­ld Carriage House, corner of West and Kent streets in Charlottet­own, 7:30 p.m.
