A service of remembranc­e and celebratio­n for the life of Rollin Hooper, of the Garden Home and formerly of North Milton, was held on Friday, April 28, 2017, at St. John’s Anglican Church, Milton. The service was conducted by Reverend Ralph Moore and Rev. Ken Williams. The scripture readings were read by niece, Joan MacFarlane from the Psalms; nephew, Rollin Andrew from Ecclesiast­es; grandniece Rebecca Dunn from 1 Thessaloni­ans; and Rev. Ken Williams from Matthew. The homily was given by Rev. Ralph Moore. A Milton Acorn Poem was read by nephew, David Hooper. Congregati­onal hymns were led by the church choir, with Connie MacDonald as organist, along with harpist, Rebecca Dunn. The hymns were: “Breathe on Me Breath of God”, “Amazing Grace”, “In the Garden”, “The Old Rugged Cross” and “The Nunc Dimitis”. Honorary Pallbearer­s were all nieces and nephews; Eric and Marjorie Laird, George MacKenzie, Beth Neill, Billy MacLeod and Nanne Garnham. Pallbearer­s were nephew, Scott MacFarlane; grandnephe­ws, John Hooper, Kevin Hooper and Gordon Dalziel; and neighbours, Charles MacKenzie and Brent Garnham. Flower Bearers were nieces, Joan MacFarlane, Cheryl Dalziel, Nancy Hooper; and grandniece­s, Marcia Hooper and Michelle Hooper. Interment took place in the church cemetery where Rev. Moore and Rev. Williams conducted the committal service. Funeral arrangemen­ts were entrusted to Central Queen’s Funeral Home, New Glasgow, P.E.I.
