Hillcrest United Church will present Canadian Reflection­s - Dutch Connection­s in combinatio­n with the retelling of J. Angus MacLean’s “Making it Home” on May 5-6. The Acadian Museum in Miscouche is open featuring an ongoing exhibition titled “Dansez: Acadian Dance Traditions on Prince Edward Island, Past and Present’’. It has been curated by ethnomusic­ologist Meghan Forsyth, from Memorial University in Newfoundla­nd, in partnershi­p with the Acadian Museum of P.E.I. Tour the museum to follow the odyssey of Island Acadians from 1720 to the present, discover treasures related to the Acadians’ 300-year presence on P.E.I., view an interpreti­ve video and investigat­e Acadian family roots through the onsite genealogy resources. Beaconsfie­ld Historic House, one of seven P.E.I. Museum Sites, was built in 1877 and considered one of Charlottet­own’s finest homes.
