It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Don in his home on May 3, 2017 in Calgary, A.B. Don will be fondly remembered for his generosity, honesty, and optimistic attitude.

He possessed a wonderful voice and a great sense of humour, marked by an infectious laugh. He loved to travel and was able to explore the world while working many years for Eaton’s Travel and Air Canada and for the last 17 years at Enmax Corporatio­n. Don was born May 10, 1950 in Montreal, Q.C. to parents Hilary and Doris. He spent many happy summers visiting grandparen­ts and cousins in Emerald, PEI. He relocated to Calgary in 1975 and became a true westerner. Predecease­d by his father, John Hilary and nephew, Gregg, Don is survived by his mother Doris and his sisters, Maureen, Marilyn (David) and brothers, David (Kerry) and Paul (Ruth). He will be sadly missed by, his nephew Jeffrey and niece Meagan. Don is also survived by his second “western” family; his aunt Terry and uncle Ab Smith; cousins Debbie (Lee), Wayne (Nancy), Kim, Brian (Sandy), Greg (Teresa), Kari (Garth) and their families. A celebratio­n of Don’s life will be held at Evan Strong Funeral Services (5502 – 2 St. SW) on Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at 3 p.m. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Don’s life.
