A Tribute to Lady Singers of Our Century to play at two venues
Fans of A Tribute to Lady Singers of our Century (Tanya Tucker, Rita MacNeil, Loretta Lynn, Emmy Lou Harris, Patsy Cline and Lynda Rondstad) will have two additional chances to see the popular show.
The first show is Sunday, June 4, at the Kings Playhouse in Georgetown starting at 7:30 p.m.
The venue is wheelchair accessible and has plenty of parking. Tickets are $20 at the door or advanced sale of tickets is $16, with doors opening at 6:30 p.m.
The second performance is Tuesday, June 6, at the Rustico Lions Club starting at 7:30 p.m. This is a fundraising concert for the Lions Club located in North Rustico, and is wheelchair accessible with plenty of parking. Tickets $12 at the door, which opens at 6:30 p.m.
Hosts for both concerts are Judy McGregor and Joan Reeves, also known as Ding and Dong. Joining them will be Jolee Patkai, Keila Glydon and Coleen MacPhee.
Patkai, a talented singer, songwriter has released two CDs “Going Home” in 2012 and “Shore Rhapsody” in 2006. She performs with her band, Treble with Girls and appears at many fundraising benefits and concerts. She will pay tribute to Loretta Lynn and Emmy Lou Harris.
Glydon has performed with many different groups over the years singing backup harmony and lead with the gospel groups, Glory Land Express, Soul Searchers and presently with Dino and the Harmonies and Phase 11 and Friends. Glydon has written many songs and her latest gospel CD is entitled “Here I am Lord”.
MacPhee, originally from Georgetown, has been singing and playing guitar since she was 12. Over the years she has entered and won numerous contests and has two recordings to her credit. She will be paying tribute to Rita MacNeil, one of her favourite female artists.
McGregor and Reeves (Ding and Dong) have been singing together for many years producing beautiful harmonies and adding lots of humor and stories of their time working at Island Tel. They will pay tribute to Tanya Tucker.
