Indian River Festival welcomes all residents and community organizations to experience historic St. Mary’s before the season opens today from 1-4 p.m.

The tour of the facility includes some local food and refreshments and will give people a taste of the magic of the acoustics in this venue.

“We want to invite everyone in the community to come visit historic St. Mary’s, especially if you have never been to the venue before,” said Don Quarles, executive director.

“I guarantee that once you come see the space and experience the location and incredible acoustics, you will be sure to return again and again.”

He is also planning a few surprises for those who attend that day.

“We want everyone to think of this venue, which overlooks beautiful Malpeque Bay, as a great place to not only come and enjoy great music, but to think of historic St. Mary’s for their next event, reception or family reunion.”

The Indian River Festival offers a summer series of concerts. The internationally recognized festival has been twice named by the Globe and Mail as one of the best summer music festivals in Canada and presents outstanding performances from a dynamic mix of some of the biggest names in Canadian music and exciting emerging talents.

Now entering its 22nd season, this summer-long festival attracts annual audiences of thousands of music lovers to the acoustically perfect St. Mary’s Church, idyllically set overlooking beautiful Malpeque Bay, to experience the very best in folk, blues, jazz, classical, traditional, contemporary and world music.
