A public forum, Shaping Canada’s First Poverty Reduction Strategy, is June 12, 7-9:30 p.m., at Murphy Community Centre, 200 Richmond St., Charlottetown, It includes a panel, group discussion and recommendations for a Federal Poverty Eradication Strategy. It is sponsored by the P.E.I. Coalition for a Poverty Eradication Strategy and MacKillop Centre for Social Justice.
Getting Excited About Bats, the next segment in the AVC Community Workshop series, is June 13, 7-8:30 p.m. at the Atlantic Veterinary College, UPEI, Room 286A/287. In the session, Jordi Segers of the Canadian Wildlife Co-operative will explain why bats are important to the world’s ecosystems, why they are true superheroes and what people can do in their backyard to help P.E.I. bats.
