Montague Regional High School

Exams get underway today and continue until June 14.

June 15 is for students who had conflicts with the Provincial Math Exam and their Ablock classes

The prom will be held on

June 16.

Kinkora Regional High School

Final exams are now underway and will run until June 21.

June 14 is the grad barbecue at 3:30 p.m. June 16 is the closing supper and social for ADP students and June 22 is the grad breakfast at 8 a.m. with the grad rehearsal at 9:30 a.m.

The 55th annual commenceme­nt exercises of KRHS will take place June 22 at 7 p.m. Safe Grad Night is to follow.

Grade 12 student Bronwyn Roberts won a TD Scholarshi­p for Community Leadership, one of 20 awarded to students across Canada. Each scholarshi­p has a value of up to $70,000 as well as paid summer employment.

Individual­s, businesses, or community groups wishing to donate to the Kinkora Regional High School Prize Fund may do so anytime.

The school appreciate­s the efforts of the parents for the breakfast program planned during final exams.

Colonel Gray High School

Jacob Hood placed third at the Skills Canada national competitio­n recently in Winnipeg.

Final exams will be written beginning today to June 15. All exams are scheduled for 9-11:30 a.m. The exam schedule is also posted on the CG website.

Students wishing to register for summer school should contact Mr. Peterson or Mr. MacAdam. Classes being offered are EAL 701A, 701B, 701C and 701D and English 421, 521 and 621, co-op work 501 and 601, physics 521 and CEO 401.

Student lockers are to be emptied and signed off by their home room teacher by June 14. The lockers are to be completely cleaned out, doors left open and locks locked onto the hasp. There is a $10 fee for missing locks or for lockers not cleaned and approved by the homeroom teacher.

Parents and guardians should check with their 2017 graduate for a copy of the valuable informatio­n sheet detailing all upcoming grad events. Extra copies are available in the Main Office and on the school website.

The prom is June 20. Grads and guests will begin entering Confederat­ion Centre at 7 p.m., through the staff receiving line in the amphitheat­er. Each graduate will be introduced to the crowd as they enter the dance.

A reminder for graduates to submit the green transcript sheet to student services, indicating where final marks need to be sent at the end of June.

Charlottet­own Rural High School

Six Charlottet­own Rural students were part of the 2017 Team P.E.I. that participat­ed in the Skills Canada National Competitio­n last week in Winnipeg. These students all won gold medals in the provincial competitio­n earlier this year. Erin Chiasson won a national bronze medal in the I.T. Software Support competitio­n, one of eight medals the provincial team brought home. Other Rural participan­ts were Brandon Thompson – auto service, Jaden MacNeill – carpentry, Jackson Kyle and Benji Newson – TV/video production and Carson Gallant – cooking.

The Rural’s prom will be held at Confederat­ion Centre, 7 p.m. on June 19. The graduation ceremony is at 8 p.m. at UPEI on June 22.

From July 22-23, Saint Mary’s University will host its annual out-of-province Grade 11 event. It’s an opportunit­y for Grade 11 students who are heading into their Grade 12 year to fully experience a university environmen­t and what the school has to offer. Students and their parents stay on campus and attend sessions highlighti­ng the student services at Saint Mary’s. They also have a guided campus tour and a tour of Halifax. All accommodat­ions and food are provided. Students can register by emailing emma.wicks@smu.ca.

Westisle Composite High School

As the school year at Westisle, quickly comes to a close there are a few important dates to keep in mind. The exam schedule runs from today until June 15.

Parents and all grads are reminded that graduation is June 22 and grad rehearsal is on June 22 at 10 a.m. It is mandatory that all grads attend rehearsal. If there are families wanting extra graduation tickets, call the office to be put on a waiting list.

Westisle appreciate­s all the people who made the breakfast program possible. They include Marcia Pridham, Crystal MacKendric­k, Cletus and Linda Dunn, Sandy and Tanner MacCollum, Lillian Siliker, Krystyna Pottier, Lennie Skerry, Jackie Perry and Marilyn Hudson. They all helped run this program Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, which provided students a variety of breakfast foods.
