The 2017 Rotary Club of Charlottetown Royalty’s Harry MacLauchlan ‘Great Day’ Fore Health 14th annual golf tournament has raised close to $65,000.

Held at Belvedere Golf Club on June 7, 32 teams and sponsors brought in $64,757 in support of the purchase of priority medical equipment for the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

“This year our committee kicked off our first planning meeting with a tour of the Cavendish Farms Same Day Surgery at the QEH and saw first-hand the value of donations to the QEH Foundation. Everyone who supports this tournament really does make a difference for our Island hospital,” says Jamie Currie, event co-chairman.

Over the past 14 years, more than $600,000 has been raised from this event in memory of Rotarian Harry MacLauchlan and in support of priority medical equipment for the Island’s main referral hospital.

“Thanks to the generosity of everyone involved, including golfers, sponsors, prize contributors, auction buyers, donations during the awards ceremony and the organizing committee, this event continues to be an essential fundraising event for the QEH,” says Bob Sear, chairman of the QEH Foundation board of directors.

In addition to presenting sponsor Cerner Canada, corporate sponsors Scotiabank/ ScotiaMcLeod and Fair Isle Ford, lifeline sponsor Johnson Inc., along with hole-in-one sponsors Hillside Chevrolet and Fair Isle Ford all renewed their support of this signature fundraising event to ensure the highest level of success.

The winning team was the Pinnacle Marketing Group — Matthew Cassidy, Stephen Cassidy, Stephen O’Brien, and Jeremy Stevenson with a score of 52.
