Betty Ann’s family offers appreciation

-

Many of you may recall that Betty Ann Wood sustained a head injury after she had an unfortunate fall on May 6. On behalf of our sister Betty Ann Wood, her family wishes to express our appreciation to the large number of people who have responded to assist and comfort her.

To Island EMS, the ER department at the QEH and the Neurology, ICU and Step Down Units at Moncton Hospital for prompt and sensitive care;

To the therapy team of Occupational, Physio and Speech Therapies at the QEH who implemented, with sensitivity, an aggressive and effective therapy regime immediately upon Betty Ann’s return from Moncton. The seamless efforts of this team were instrumental in Betty Ann being able to move to semi-independent living in her new home;

To the doctors and nurses in Unit 7 at the QEH for excellent care;

To the Guardian and staffers who have been very thoughtful and generous;

To the many thoughtful people who visited Betty Ann and sent her gifts, flowers and cards with hand written messages that often began with, “you don’t know me….”

To Sgt. David Pound of the Charlottetown City Police who investigated the circumstances around Betty Ann’s fall.

Betty Ann’s family is grateful for the caring exhibited by so many persons and thankful for your contributions. This event has reassured us, we live in a caring community.
