SCOTT Ruth Isabelle (nee Corbett)

October 22, 1938 - June 16, 2017

It is with profound sadness that the family of Ruth Scott announces the passing of their beloved Mother and Nana on June 16, 2017, at the age of 78 surrounded by her family after a short, courageous battle with

ALS. Ruth has left an amazing legacy and will be lovingly remembered by her brothers,

Elwin (Carol) Corbett, Donald (Brenda) Corbett, Wesley (Kathy) Corbett. Her children and their spouses: Michele (Gary) Marsh, Linda (Tim) Kohn, Donna (Keith) Parkman, Lisa Scott (Noel Pacheco), James Scott and Nicole (Shawn) Taillon. Grandchildren: Chris (Christy), Darryl (Andrea), Courtney, Timothy (Kristen), Andrew (Chelsey), Derek, Amanda, Keenan, Krispin, Will, Atiana, Kayla and Chloe. Great grandchildren: Eric, Alyson, Olivia, Preston, Peyton E., Adaleyah, Lily, Emily, Oliver, Brynja & Peyton as well as many special nieces, nephews, family & friends. Ruth was predeceased by her husband James H. (Jim) Scott, her father Irvine Corbett, mother Marjorie Corbett, sister Dorothy Corbett-Mackenzie, grandson Jonathan Kohn and great granddaughter Sofia Kohn. Ruth was born on October 22, 1938 in Warren Grove, P.E.I.. She married the love of her life Jim on June 23, 1962. In 1975 they moved their family to Calgary where they raised their 6 children. There was nothing more important to Ruth than her family; she was a kind, caring Mother and Nana. Ruth loved her family, horses, dogs, people and hockey. Ruth enjoyed horseback riding, skating, camping, boating, traveling, fishing, swimming and most of all spending time with her family. Ruth touched many lives and will forever be in our hearts. A private family memorial service will be held at Eden Brook Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home 24223 Township Road 242, Calgary, Alberta T3Z 3K2.
