Painting a legacy
Free one-hour mural mosaic sessions will be held
The City of Charlottetown invites the public to help create some musical mosaics June 2729.
The city has partnered with Mural Mosaic on this Canada 150 project.
Charlottetown’s mural mosaic will be created from hundreds of individually painted tiles, which will be assembled to create a unified mosaic that represents the community.
The city is inviting Islanders and visitors to participate in free one-hour tile painting sessions to incorporate their design and creativity into the project.
The one-hour sessions will be held in the Upton Room at the West Royalty Community Centre at 1 Kirkdale Road with morning, afternoon and evening sessions.
Pre-registration is required and each session has a capacity of 30 people.
All the required supplies for painting the tiles will be provided and there is no cost to participate. Participants are encouraged to wear appropriate attire for painting.
To register as an individual, family or group, contact Charlotte Nicholson at cnicholson@charlottetown.ca or call 902-6294138.
The tiles will be assembled into a large mosaic and the full mural will be unveiled on Canada Day in Victoria Park.
The Canada 150 Mural Mosaic will permanently reside in Charlottetown, where it was created, as a reminder of the 150th anniversary.
