Allstar Seelster puts on show
Tyne Valley-owned gelding records fastest mile at SRW on Sunday
Allstar Seelster put on a show at Red Shores at Summerside Raceway on Sunday afternoon.
The six-year-old bay gelding by Artistic-Fella-Aqua RosaThe Panderosa stopped the clock in 1:55 flat over a racing surfaced rated as fast. It was the quickest mile of the 12dash program.
Norris Rogers, who registered a driving double, did the steering for owner and trainer Edward Harvey of Tyne Valley. Allstar Seelster led from the start, and cut out back-toback fractions of 28 seconds for a 56-second half mile, and hit the three-quarter-mile mark in 1:24.4. Rash B Havior placed while Sandinista finished in the show position in the $1,800 event.
Feature Machinthesand, owned by P.E.I.’s Noonan Holdings Ltd.-Russell Noonan-Karen Noonan, captured the $2,400 feature race in 1:57.2.
Ken Murphy drove Machinthesand, and Hughie Murphy trains the eight-year-old bay gelding by Mach ThreeFairway Sand-Run the Table.
Eagle Jolt was second, and DBS Rosco was third.

Rising Fella (2:02.3), Elm Grove Lynn (2:01.3 – a new race-win record, Jays Little Spark (1:58.3 – a new race-win record), Hurricane E J (2:02 – a maiden record), Windemere Johny (1:59.1 – a new race-win record), Old Buck (1:57.3 – a
maiden record), Good Friday Three (1:56.4), Sporty B Skipalong (1:58), Badlands Giovanna (2:00 – a new race-win record) and Whosurwinner (1:57.3).
Jason Hughes had a big day in the bike registering a driving triple. Murphy and Walter Cheverie each made a
pair of trips to the winner’s circle.
The total wager was $20,584.
