Holland College, Acadia sign articulation agreement for music performance students

-

It is now be easier for Holland College’s music performance students to continue their education in programs at Acadia University in Wolfville, N.S.

The college and university signed an articulation agreement this week that will enable music performance graduates to get advanced standing in Acadia’s music, music therapy and arts in music four-year bachelor degree programs.

The agreement gives Holland College students, who graduated with a minimum of 66 per cent, up to 60 of the 120 credits needed to complete the Acadia bachelor degrees, reducing the amount of time required to complete a degree to two years.

Jeff Hennessy, Acadia’s dean of arts and a professor of music, said that the two programs match well.

“The high-quality programming and teaching in the music performance program at Holland College provides an excellent foundation for our undergraduate music degree programs at Acadia,” said Hennessy.

“We are thrilled at the prospect of welcoming Holland College music performance graduates to the Acadia School of Music.”

Holland College’s music performance program has similar agreements with St. Francis Xavier and Berklee College of Music, as well as an articulation agreement with University of New Brunswick – Saint John for a bachelor of applied management degree.
