At the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, on June 27, 2017 the death of J. Brendan Bell of Charlottetown in his 91st year, following a brief illness. Left to mourn are his loving wife Julia, three daughters, Joy (Scott) MacKenzie, Kathy ( Richard) Moore, and Lori (Irwin) Dawson; granddaughters, Sarah

Moore, Ellen Dawson, Hannah Dawson, grandsons, Willem MacKenzie, David Moore and Isaac Dawson; two sisters, Arlene (Robert, deceased) Francis, Charlottetown, Delite, (Frank, deceased) Courneya, Toronto, Margaret Starr (Geoff, deceased), Kincardine, Ontario; many nieces and nephews; Julia’s children, Glenda (Paul) Gallant, Eileen (Stirling) Smith, Paula (Pat) Doyle, all of Charlottetown, Donna (Mike) Van Malsen of Saint John, Gordon (Carol) and Robert (Carissa) Toole, of Winnipeg, their children, as well as sisters in law, Ada Perry and Rennie (John) Roberge. Brendan was born in Charlottetown on April 7, 1927, worked for many years at the CNR but was, at heart, a real proponent of the private sector, and a believer in investing well in life and finance. He is predecessed by his parents, Eunice and Robert Bell, Parkdale, sister, Eleanor (Edgar, deceased), Toronto, and brothers, Robert (Shirley, deceased) and Rupert (Mary) Bell, all of Toronto, as well as Julia’s daughter, Marlene Gaudet. Arrangements will be entrusted to the Hennessey-Cutcliffe Funeral Home, with a funeral mass at the Church of the Most Holy Redeemer on Saturday July 1, 2017 at 10 a.m. Family will be gathering at the funeral home on Friday, June 30th from 6:30-8:30 p.m. to greet family and friends. Many thanks for the kindness of the nursing staff of units 8 and 1 at the QEH. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Foundation, the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of your choice.
