Ships off schedule; no parking staff

-

According to information in The Guardian on June 24th, the Tall Ships would be going through the mouth of the Charlottetown harbour starting at 8:50 a.m. on Friday, June 30th and continuing until 10:35 a.m. Hundreds of people, maybe more, arrived at that time, or earlier, at Fort Amherst, to view this wonderful spectacle.

Enduring chilly and rainy weather, we waited for the ships to arrive. At 10:

20 a.m. we left, having other commitments, and not having seeing any of the ships going through the narrows.

Also, to be noted, there was no security or staff to direct people where to park so cars were everywhere.

Fortunately, in our case, we were able to negotiate a path to leave but, I am sure, others would not have as many were blocked in.

My question is why was the information provided so incorrect and why was there no supervision for a crowd this size?
