Ply­mouth — It’s with bro­ken hearts we an­nounce that Wayne Martin age 59 of Ply­mouth, Pic­tou County, passed away peace­fully in the Pal­lia­tive Care Unit of the Aberdeen Hospi­tal on July 1, 2017, sur­rounded by his lov­ing fam­ily. Wayne was a son of the late Ralph and Mary Teresa (De Rouche) Martin and step­mother Florence (nan) Martin. Wayne was em­ployed with North­ern Pulp for 31 years where he re­tired in 2015 due to ill health. He en­joyed golf­ing, fish­ing at the fam­ily cot­tage in Lochaber and was an avid sports fan. He is sur­vived by his lov­ing wife Cindy (Bax­ter) Martin, A brother Ralph (Chan­tal) Martin of Charlottetown P.E.I., Neph­ews Jamie & Kyle, fa­therin-law Jim Bax­ter of Stel­lar­ton, Sis­ters-in-law: Chrys­tal Bax­ter (Richie) of MacLel­lan’s Brook, Caroll MacKin­non of Westville, Neph­ews Ryan (Tif­fany), Evan (Kelly), niece Olivia (Pat), Brother-in-law Jim (Melissa) Bax­ter of Jed­dore, Oys­ter Pond, Un­cle Clay­ton Porter, cousins Donna Cox, Mike, Gary and Roger Porter. Sis­ter-in-law Linda MacKay, nieces Stacey MacKay Lit­tle Har­bour, Wendy (Mike) Verge of New Glas­gow, Fur ba­bies Kia, Koe koe & Kola. He was pre­de­ceased by his par­ents, a sis­ter in in­fancy, moth­erin-law Bon­nie Bax­ter, step brother Robin MacKay, broth­erin-law Blair MacKin­non and grand mother-in-law Jean Bax­ter. The fam­ily will re­ceive vis­i­tors from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. on Wed­nes­day in the H.C. MacQuar­rie Fu­neral Chapel, Stel­lar­ton. Fu­neral ser­vice will be held on Thurs­day at 2 p.m. from the fu­neral home chapel with Rev. Jim Web­ber -Cook of­fi­ci­at­ing. Cre­ma­tion to fol­low. Do­na­tions in me­mory of Wayne may be made to the Pal­lia­tive Care Unit of the Aberdeen Hospi­tal or to a char­ity of one’s choice.
