Mass casualty exercise set for Thursday

-

Anyone who notes a lot of activity off the Island’s southeast coast on Thursday need not worry — it’s the Canadian Coast Guard practising life-saving techniques.

The public is being advised of a search and rescue training exercise that will take place July 6 near Pictou Island, located in the Northumberland Strait between Wood Islands and Caribou, N.S. The Coast Guard is performing a mass casualty exercise with several organizations. The exercise will take place on the water from 10 a.m. until 1:30 p.m., and again from 5:30 until 8:30 p.m.
