Yoga, lunch in the square
The City of Charlottetown is launching a new lunchtime program called “Fun in the City’s Greenspace,” which will take place in Rochford Square every Wednesday in July and August, from noon to 1 p.m.
The first activity takes place today and includes a lunchtime yoga class suitable for all levels and ages. It will be lead by Samantha Sambrooke from the Maritime Yoga College.
Picnic tables and blankets will be available for participants who would rather relax and eat their lunch.
The Charlottetown Public Library will also be participating most Wednesdays, with books for all ages that the public can borrow directly from the park with their library card.
The Fun in the City’s Greenspace goal is to encourage use of the greenspaces, promote healthy active lifestyles and social activity.
The types of activities range from exercise classes, such as yoga and tai chi, to lawn games, such as washer toss and bocci ball, and more.
