Run­ning a num­ber of events in Rustico through July

There is plenty to take in dur­ing the Aca­dian Days Fes­ti­val through­out the month July.

The Farm­ers’ Bank of Rustico Mu­seum and Doucet House (2188 Church Rd, Route 243) will be hold­ing daily events un­til July 30 as a part of the fes­ti­val.

Ac­tiv­i­ties in­clude an ex­hi­bi­tion fea­tur­ing farm im­ple­ments and ar­ti­facts of the past with in­ter­preters in pe­riod cos­tume.

Theresa Gal­lant will be avail­able, by ap­point­ment, to help with the ge­neal­ogy of Aca­dian fam­i­lies of Rustico.

From 10 a.m. to noon daily, there will be a scav­enger hunt, and hot ap­ple cider and cook­ies will be served at the Doucet House from 2-4 p.m. daily.

Vis­i­tors can also have their pho­to­graphs taken in a tra­di­tional Aca­dian cos­tume.

From 2-4 p.m. Tues­days in­clude Shirley Gal­lant pro­vid­ing demon­stra­tions of knit­ting, while on Fri­day, July 14, there will be an his­tor­i­cal dis­cus­sion on the var­i­ous roles un­der­taken by Fa­ther Bel­court.

On Satur­day, July 22, chil­dren’s ac­tiv­i­ties will take place that in­clude games, snacks and a visit to Fr. Raj’s chick­ens.

A Tra­di­tional Aca­dian din­ner with Chef Robert Pen­der­gast takes place at 5:30-7:15 p.m., fol­lowed by a soirée at 7:30 p.m.

On July 11, Dino Dunsford per­forms; July 13, Al­li­son Blac­quiere; July 21, Michael Pen­der­gast; and July 27, Meaghan Blan­chard.
