At home sur­rounded by his fam­ily, R. Dar­rell White age 94, of Mur­ray Har­bour passed away on Fri­day, July 7, 2017. Lov­ing and de­voted hus­band of 52 years to Carol (Bil­lard) White. Born in Mur­ray Har­bour on Novem­ber 13, 1922, he was a son of the late Roland and Kather­ine (Sin­gle­ton) White. Dar­rell was a Vet­eran of WW II serv­ing with the Army. He was a Dis­patch Driver with the Trois Riviere Reg­i­ment, 12th Cana­dian Ar­moured Reg­i­ment. He served from 1941-1945 in Eng­land, France, Bel­gium, Hol­land, Germany, Italy and Si­cily. He is sur­vived by his chil­dren Kathy White (Con­nie Rose), Karen White (Harry Van­den Broek); broth­ers Keith White (Clara), Si­mon White, By­ron White, Seaton White; brother-in-law Mal­colm Beaton; nu­mer­ous cousins, nieces and neph­ews. Pre­de­ceased by sisters and broth­ers Irene Beaton, Melvin White (Mar­ion), Sadie Tornosky, Rus­sell White, Sy­bil White, Fred White (Edna) and spe­cial niece Su­san Har­vey. Rest­ing at Fer­gu­son Lo­gan Mon­tague Fu­neral Home with vis­it­ing on Sun­day, July 9, 2017 from 4 to 7 p.m. Fu­neral Ser­vice to be held on Mon­day July 10 at 4 p.m., from the Fu­neral Home Chapel. In­ter­ment to take place in the Mur­ray Har­bour Ceme­tery. Do­na­tions to the South­ern Kings and Queens Home Care would be ap­pre­ci­ated. A Royal Cana­dian Le­gion Trib­ute Ser­vice for a fallen Brother to take place on Sun­day, 3:45 p.m. Fu­neral Ser­vice will be streamed live here on the Fer­gu­son Lo­gan Mon­tague Fu­neral Home Web­site.
