HMCS SUMMERSIDE OPEN FOR TOURS

HMCS Summerside will be along­side at the Port of Summerside un­til July 18 and will par­tic­i­pate in the Lob­ster Car­ni­val fes­tiv­i­ties as part of the greater Canada 150 cel­e­bra­tions tak­ing place na­tion­wide. Sailors from the ship will also join sailors from HMCS Queen Char­lotte in this year’s Lob­ster Car­ni­val Pa­rade on July 15.

The ship will be lo­cated at the Port of Summerside, 162 Har­bourview Dr., and will be open for tours July 15-16, noon to 4 p.m.

HMCS Summerside was one of the ves­sels de­ployed for Nep­tune-Tri­dent 17-01, which is the over­ar­ch­ing Royal Cana­dian Navy de­ploy­ment to West Africa that in­cludes en­gage­ments with West African na­tions to sup­port joint train­ing and to fos­ter re­la­tion­ships in the Gulf of Guinea re­gion.
