Bara­chois Sum­mer Mu­sic project plays Kirk of St. James on Satur­day

A spe­cial Bara­chois Sum­mer Mu­sic project will take place on Satur­day as the Kirk Sum­mer Recitals con­tinue at the Kirk of St. James in Char­lot­te­town.

The Bara­chois Sum­mer Mu­sic Vo­cal Academy, un­der the di­rec­tion of Nathalie Paulin and Julien LeBlanc, will present a con­cert with young Cana­dian and Amer­i­can singers and pi­anists.

They will present a com­plete pro­gram of works by Cana­dian com­posers.

For a week, they will study the mu­sic and texts of com­posers, such as John Beck­with, Li­onel Dau­nais, John Greer, Jac­ques Hétu and Harry Somers un­der the guid­ance of Paulin, LeBlanc and lit­er­a­ture pro­fes­sor Robert Lapp.

The list of par­tic­i­pants at the con­cert in­cludes Julie Ekker, so­prano; Lind­say Con­nolly, mezzo so­prano; Pa­trick McGill, tenor; Ni­cholas Higgs, bari­tone; Dakota Scott-Digout, pi­anist; and Ben­jamin Bertin, pi­anist.

Each singer will present a short pro­gram and there will be an ensem­ble with all the singers and four-hand piano.

The Kirk of St. James is lo­cated on Fitzroy Street.
