Get out of way of designer helmets

-

It is unfortunate that the wannabe Tour de France riders think that the bike lane in Victoria Park was designed just for them and their high rate of speed as mentioned in Friday’s Guardian. Why can these selfish individuals not slow down and enjoy a leisurely ride through the park and let young families do the same without berating them about being in their way.

If they need their speed fix then Route 2 east from Charlottetown to at least St Peters offers open highway with safe wide paved shoulders for them to go as fast as they like.

The person who yelled and cussed at the young family should have slowed and greeted them as human beings and perhaps asked the little girl how she was enjoying her bike ride.

“But oh no, it’s all about me, I got my designer helmet, sunglasses and fancy coloured spandex so the rest of you lesser individuals get out of my way, this is my bike lane.”
