Winners crowned at Charlottetown race week
Charlottetown boats won three of four sailing titles in recent Charlottetown race week events hosted by the Charlottetown Yacht Club.
Andrew Rankin, skippering Ardezen, won the J-70 class, Peter Toombs aboard Tangley took the PHRF spinnaker A class and Tim Cook’s Phoenix earned the PHRF spinnaker B title.
Jim Mason of Fall River, N.S., piloted Satisfaction to the J-29 crown.
Randy Johnson and Jason Aspin of Charlottetown finished second and third in J-29, respectively.
Graeme Carr of Charlottetown and Kim Gibson of Fredericton, N.B., placed second and third, respectively, in J-70 racing.
John Stewart of Stratford was second in spinnaker A racing, followed by Charlottetown’s John Rankin in third.
In spinnaker B action, Basil Dickson of Charlottetown was second and Simon Pickles, also of Charlottetown, placed third.
