The funeral for Lawrence Doiron, beloved hus­band of Marie Doiron, for­merly of Rus­tico, was held on Satur­day, July 15, 2017, at St. Augustine’s Ro­man Catholic Church, Rus­tico. The presider for the mass of Chris­tian burial was Rev­erend Arul­raj San­ti­ago, who also pro­claimed the Gospel and de­liv­ered the homily. The pall was placed on the cas­ket by fam­ily. The first read­ing, from I John, was ad­dressed by niece, De­bra Smith. The sec­ond read­ing, from Philip­pi­ans, was ad­dressed by daugh­ter, Janet Mad­dix. Prayers of the Faith­ful were read by niece, Michelle Mur­phy. The al­tar servers were James Don­nelly, Joseph O. Gal­lant and Linda Gal­lant. Delma Good and Marie Doiron as­sisted Fa­ther San­ti­ago as Eucharis­tic min­is­ters. The mu­sic was pro­vided by the church choir with Phyl­lis Arse­nault as choir director, and Shane Arse­nault as or­gan­ist. The hymns were En­trance, “Here I Am, Lord”; Psalm, “The Lord Is My Shep­herd”; Gospel Ac­cla­ma­tion, “Al­leluia”, with Phyl­lis Arse­nault as can­tor; of­fer­tory, “You Are My Saviour”, sung by Phyl­lis Arse­nault; com­mu­nion, “Come to the Wa­ter”; com­men­da­tion, “Songs of the An­gels”; and re­ces­sional, “How Great Thou Art”. Hon­orary pall­bear­ers were ev­ery­one present. Pall­bear­ers were Cody Mad­dix, Bob Doiron, Den­nis Doiron, David Doiron, Ron­nie Gal­lant and John Doiron. Flower bear­ers were daugh­ters, Donna Hay­ball, Kay Doiron and Janet Mad­dix. In­ter­ment took place fol­low­ing the ser­vice in the Church Ceme­tery, where Fa­ther Raj con­ducted the com­mit­tal ser­vice. Ar­range­ments were en­trusted to Cen­tral Queen’s Funeral Home, New Glas­gow.
