The funeral for Lawrence Doiron, beloved husband of Marie Doiron, formerly of Rustico, was held on Saturday, July 15, 2017, at St. Augustine’s Roman Catholic Church, Rustico. The presider for the mass of Christian burial was Reverend Arulraj Santiago, who also proclaimed the Gospel and delivered the homily. The pall was placed on the casket by family. The first reading, from I John, was addressed by niece, Debra Smith. The second reading, from Philippian­s, was addressed by daughter, Janet Maddix. Prayers of the Faithful were read by niece, Michelle Murphy. The altar servers were James Donnelly, Joseph O. Gallant and Linda Gallant. Delma Good and Marie Doiron assisted Father Santiago as Eucharisti­c ministers. The music was provided by the church choir with Phyllis Arsenault as choir director, and Shane Arsenault as organist. The hymns were Entrance, “Here I Am, Lord”; Psalm, “The Lord Is My Shepherd”; Gospel Acclamatio­n, “Alleluia”, with Phyllis Arsenault as cantor; offertory, “You Are My Saviour”, sung by Phyllis Arsenault; communion, “Come to the Water”; commendati­on, “Songs of the Angels”; and recessiona­l, “How Great Thou Art”. Honorary pallbearer­s were everyone present. Pallbearer­s were Cody Maddix, Bob Doiron, Dennis Doiron, David Doiron, Ronnie Gallant and John Doiron. Flower bearers were daughters, Donna Hayball, Kay Doiron and Janet Maddix. Interment took place following the service in the Church Cemetery, where Father Raj conducted the committal service. Arrangemen­ts were entrusted to Central Queen’s Funeral Home, New Glasgow.
