Chais­son Trio will be on stage

On Fri­day, the Ceilidh at the Ir­ish Hall wel­comes back the Chais­son Trio that con­sists of Kevin Chais­son – key­board and vo­cals and Louise Chais­son MacK­in­non – guitar and vo­cals, both mem­bers of the leg­endary Chais­son Fam­ily of Bear River.

The group’s fea­tured fid­dler is Ran­nie MacLel­lan from South West Mar­ga­ree, Cape Bre­ton, who now lives on the Is­land. The group’s of­fer­ings in­clude med­leys of Scot­tish and Ir­ish jigs and reels, beau­ti­ful strath­speys, and lovely slow airs, mixed with tra­di­tional bal­lads fea­tur­ing Louise’s beau­ti­ful voice.

For the best in Ir­ish, Scot­tish, and Mar­itime tra­di­tional mu­sic plan to at­tend this ceilidh. There will be a 50/50 draw dur­ing the evening and a light lunch is served dur­ing the in­ter­mis­sion.

The ceilidh takes place at the Ir­ish Cul­tural Cen­tre, 582 North River Road in Char­lot­te­town. Doors open at 7, show starts at 8. Ad­mis­sion price is $12 at the door. Chil­dren twelve and un­der re­main at $5. Ev­ery­one is wel­come. For more in­for­ma­tion call 566-3273.
