Alleged assault with baseball bat in Charlottetown

A 45-year-old Charlottetownarea man is now facing a charge of assault with a weapon following an incident earlier this week. Charlottetown Police Services received a complaint Monday night of an assault by a man using a baseball bat against a woman. The female victim received nonlife-threatening injuries but did require medical treatment at the QEH, said a police report.

The man was put in jail and will be appearing in provincial court at a later date. Police are continuing with their investigation.
