Bantam AAA, peewee AA eliminations starting today in Cardigan
It’s a baseball bonanza this weekend as Cardigan hosts the Baseball P.E.I. bantam AAA and peewee AA eliminations.
Games start today at noon for the peewees at J.D. MacIntyre Field and Kim Bujosevich Field, sites for the tourney. The bantams play at Clipper Field beginning Friday at 2:30 p.m.
Saturday’s action starts at 10 a.m. for the peewees and 9 a.m. for the bantams.
Sunday’s bantam title game goes at 11 a.m. or 2 p.m., depending on tiebreakers.
The peewee semifinals are 10 a.m. at J.D. MacIntyre Field and Jim Bujosevich Field, respectively, followed by the championship game, at 1 p.m., at J.D. MacIntyre.
Teams in the peewee tournament are the Cardigan Clippers, Stratford Athletics and Charlottetown Royals in the Eastern Division and the Western Mariners, Summerside Chevys and Cornwall Cougars in the Western Division.
The Eastern Express, Capital District Islanders, Mid-Isle Mustangs and Western Mariners will battle for the bantam crown.
Winners represent P.E.I. at the Baseball Atlantic bantam AAA championship Sept. 15-17 in Grand Falls-Windsor, N.L., and at the peewee AA championship Sept. 15-17 in Conception Bay South, N.L.
