The fu­neral for the late Beth Ce­celia McRae, beloved wife of the late Arthur J. McRae of Al­ber­ton, was held on Fri­day July 14. 2017 from the Rooney Fu­neral Home Al­ber­ton, to the Sa­cred Heart Church Al­ber­ton, where fu­neral mass was cel­e­brated at 4 p.m. by the Rev. Ralph McRae, cousin of the de­ceased. The co cel­e­brant was Rev. An­drew Mac­Don­ald. The Homily was de­liv­ered by Rev. Ral;ph McRae who also had the prayers of fi­nal com­men­da­tion and fair­well. The first read­ing was ad­dressed by Ken Richard. The sec­ond read­ing was ad­dress­esd Anne McRae MacIs­sac who also in­vited the prayers of the faith­full. The Eucharis­tic min­is­ter was Jean Cahill. The cru­cifer was Irv­ing Brod­er­ick and the can­dle bear­ers were Emile Bernard and Joe Cal­laghan. The choir was un­der the di­rec­tion of Phyl­lis Matthews and the or­gan­ist was An­toinette Perry. The Pro­ces­sional hymn was Amaz­ing Grace. The psalm was The Lord is my Shep­herd. The Of­fer­tory hymn was We Walk by Faith. The com­mu­nion hymn was Taste and See. The song of fair­well was Songs of the An­gels. The re­ces­sional hymn was Sing With All the Saints in Glory.Mem­bers from the Al­ber­ton town coun­cil at­tended in a group. Ev­ery­one present for the fu­neral li­turgy were con­sid­ered to be Hon­orary Pall­bear­ers. The ac­tive pall­bear­ers were Gary McRae, Paul McRae, Tom Toye, ken­neth McRae, Mike Mur­phy, Blair Cal­laghan. The flower bear­ers were Bev­er­ley Mor­ri­son, Shel­ley McCormick, Pauline Gal­lant, Margo Cal­laghan. In­ter­ment was in the church ceme­tery with Rev. Ralph McRae of­fi­ci­at­ing.
