The funeral for the late Beth Cecelia McRae, beloved wife of the late Arthur J. McRae of Alberton, was held on Friday July 14. 2017 from the Rooney Funeral Home Alberton, to the Sacred Heart Church Alberton, where funeral mass was celebrated at 4 p.m. by the Rev. Ralph McRae, cousin of the deceased. The co celebrant was Rev. Andrew MacDonald. The Homily was delivered by Rev. Ral;ph McRae who also had the prayers of final commendati­on and fairwell. The first reading was addressed by Ken Richard. The second reading was addressesd Anne McRae MacIssac who also invited the prayers of the faithfull. The Eucharisti­c minister was Jean Cahill. The crucifer was Irving Broderick and the candle bearers were Emile Bernard and Joe Callaghan. The choir was under the direction of Phyllis Matthews and the organist was Antoinette Perry. The Procession­al hymn was Amazing Grace. The psalm was The Lord is my Shepherd. The Offertory hymn was We Walk by Faith. The communion hymn was Taste and See. The song of fairwell was Songs of the Angels. The recessiona­l hymn was Sing With All the Saints in Glory.Members from the Alberton town council attended in a group. Everyone present for the funeral liturgy were considered to be Honorary Pallbearer­s. The active pallbearer­s were Gary McRae, Paul McRae, Tom Toye, kenneth McRae, Mike Murphy, Blair Callaghan. The flower bearers were Beverley Morrison, Shelley McCormick, Pauline Gallant, Margo Callaghan. Interment was in the church cemetery with Rev. Ralph McRae officiatin­g.
