Young performer wins competition

Julie Gallant, second left, of Tignish is the winner of the recent P.E.I. Youth Talent Search competition, hosted by the Summerside Lobster Carnival. She received $300 from Myles Grady, left, representing sponsor P.E.I. Mutual Insurance Company. Callie Thompson, Kinkora, was second with Olivia Bruce, Stratford, second from right, in third. Looking on is provincial youth talent co-ordinator Jean Tingley. Gallant will represent the lobster carnival at the provincial finals in Abram-Village in September.
