Young per­former wins com­pe­ti­tion

Julie Gal­lant, sec­ond left, of Tig­nish is the win­ner of the re­cent P.E.I. Youth Tal­ent Search com­pe­ti­tion, hosted by the Sum­mer­side Lob­ster Car­ni­val. She re­ceived $300 from Myles Grady, left, rep­re­sent­ing spon­sor P.E.I. Mu­tual In­surance Com­pany. Cal­lie Thomp­son, Kinkora, was sec­ond with Olivia Bruce, Strat­ford, sec­ond from right, in third. Look­ing on is pro­vin­cial youth tal­ent co-or­di­na­tor Jean Tin­g­ley. Gal­lant will rep­re­sent the lob­ster car­ni­val at the pro­vin­cial fi­nals in Abram-Vil­lage in Septem­ber.
