Led by Matt Power’s complete game, the Capital District Islanders downed the Western Mariners 6-4 in the final of the Baseball P.E.I. bantam AAA elimination tournament Sunday in Cardigan. Hot bats and solid defence in the weekend event helped the Islanders to a 4-0 (won-lost) record in the double-elimination tourney. Western would’ve had to beat Capital District twice in the playoffs to win the crown. The Islanders will represent P.E.I. at the Atlantic bantam AAA championship in September in Grand Falls-Windsor, N.L.
