Color Run im­pacts traf­fic to­day

The Color Run, one of the largest 5k event se­ries in the world, will take place in Char­lot­te­town to­day.

The event will be­gin at 9 a.m. at the Char­lot­te­town event grounds lo­cated at 360 Grafton St. Par­tic­i­pants will travel on along Wa­ter Street, take a right onto Hav­i­land Street, left on Rich­mond Street to West Street and left on Kent Street through the Govern­ment park­ing lot, onto Fitzroy Street, then con­tinue onto Rochford Street and travel back along Wa­ter Street to the fin­ish line.

Wa­ter Street, be­tween Grafton Street and Hav­i­land Street, will be closed from 7 a.m. un­til 12 p.m. on Satur­day, July 29.

Ac­cess points to the Friendly Phar­macy will be avail­able from Wey­mouth Street. Ac­cess to the Delta Ho­tel will be avail­able through Queen Street and the Yacht Club through Great Ge­orge Street.

There is no park­ing per­mit­ted on the fol­low­ing streets from 11 p.m. on July 28 un­til 11 a.m. to­day:

- Kent Street from Terry Fox Drive to West Street

- West Street

- Rich­mond Street from West Street to Rochford/Hav­i­land Street

- Rochford/Hav­i­land Street from Rich­mond Street to Wa­ter Street

- Wa­ter Street from Hav­i­land Street to the Event Grounds

The pub­lic is en­cour­aged to use the park­ing lot on Terry Fox Drive as well as the city parkades, which will be open to the pub­lic at no charge.
