Color Run impacts traffic today

The Color Run, one of the largest 5k event series in the world, will take place in Charlottet­own today.

The event will begin at 9 a.m. at the Charlottet­own event grounds located at 360 Grafton St. Participan­ts will travel on along Water Street, take a right onto Haviland Street, left on Richmond Street to West Street and left on Kent Street through the Government parking lot, onto Fitzroy Street, then continue onto Rochford Street and travel back along Water Street to the finish line.

Water Street, between Grafton Street and Haviland Street, will be closed from 7 a.m. until 12 p.m. on Saturday, July 29.

Access points to the Friendly Pharmacy will be available from Weymouth Street. Access to the Delta Hotel will be available through Queen Street and the Yacht Club through Great George Street.

There is no parking permitted on the following streets from 11 p.m. on July 28 until 11 a.m. today:

- Kent Street from Terry Fox Drive to West Street

- West Street

- Richmond Street from West Street to Rochford/Haviland Street

- Rochford/Haviland Street from Richmond Street to Water Street

- Water Street from Haviland Street to the Event Grounds

The public is encouraged to use the parking lot on Terry Fox Drive as well as the city parkades, which will be open to the public at no charge.
