Helping the firefighters

-

The Tyne Valley Fire Department recently held a major fundraiser, its annual cash elimination draw at the Tyne Valley Fire Hall.

This annual fundraiser assists the fire department with upgrading equipment.

Last year, the money raised was used to purchase a component of the Jaws of Life Equipment. This year, the funds will be put towards purchasing another major component of this much needed equipment as well as medical supplies for the first responders.

A total of $10,000 in prize money was awarded during the event in June. Évangéline–Central Credit Union was able to contribute to the fundraising efforts by providing the $1,000 consolation prize to winner Lynden Ellis.
