Ceilidh in the City going country on Wednesday night

-

Ceilidh in the City is set to host a night of country music on Wednesday Aug. 2, with the music of Jeannie Cameron and George MacPhee.

Cameron is a country singer from western P.E.I., with a wide song repertoire who will keep guests singing in their seats all night long.

Joining her will be MacPhee, an Island guitarist and singer who needs little introduction to the ceilidh stage. MacPhee played on the road for many years with some highly talented Canadian bands and is one of the finest country styled guitar players on Prince Edward Island.

They will be joining the weekly hosts of the Ceilidh in the City — Kendall Docherty, Peter Burke, Heartz Godkin and Brian Knox — for a night of high-energy sing-along songs that will keep the audience bouncing in their seats all night long.

The show gets underway at 7:30 p.m. with the doors opening at 6:30 p.m. at the Jack Blanchard Family Centre, 7 Pond St., Charlottetown. There will be a canteen service operated by the catering staff from Holy Redeemer with a selections of fresh baked pies and desserts, as well as others snacks and drinks. There will also be a 50/50 draw in support of the Ceilidh Gives Back funds which contributes funds to various Island charities.

Additional information is available by calling Docherty at 902-569-1133 or Knox at 902-569-3327 or online at facebook.com/CeilidhInTheCity
