Ceilidh in the City go­ing coun­try on Wed­nes­day night

Ceilidh in the City is set to host a night of coun­try mu­sic on Wed­nes­day Aug. 2, with the mu­sic of Jean­nie Cameron and Ge­orge MacPhee.

Cameron is a coun­try singer from west­ern P.E.I., with a wide song reper­toire who will keep guests singing in their seats all night long.

Join­ing her will be MacPhee, an Is­land gui­tarist and singer who needs lit­tle in­tro­duc­tion to the ceilidh stage. MacPhee played on the road for many years with some highly tal­ented Cana­dian bands and is one of the finest coun­try styled gui­tar play­ers on Prince Ed­ward Is­land.

They will be join­ing the weekly hosts of the Ceilidh in the City — Kendall Docherty, Peter Burke, Heartz God­kin and Brian Knox — for a night of high-en­ergy sing-along songs that will keep the au­di­ence bounc­ing in their seats all night long.

The show gets un­der­way at 7:30 p.m. with the doors open­ing at 6:30 p.m. at the Jack Blan­chard Fam­ily Cen­tre, 7 Pond St., Charlottetown. There will be a can­teen ser­vice op­er­ated by the ca­ter­ing staff from Holy Redeemer with a se­lec­tions of fresh baked pies and desserts, as well as oth­ers snacks and drinks. There will also be a 50/50 draw in sup­port of the Ceilidh Gives Back funds which con­trib­utes funds to var­i­ous Is­land char­i­ties.
