Vin­tage cars hit­ting the road in P.E.I. for fun road tour

Au­to­mo­bile en­thu­si­asts are be­ing urged to join a drive into the past.

The Wheels of Time P.E.I. Road Tour runs Friday to Satur­day.

The event will see ve­hi­cles leave Cana­dian Tire in Summerside Friday at 9 a.m. to tour points of in­ter­est in western P.E.I.

Pub­lic view­ing of ve­hi­cles will be avail­able start­ing at 6 p.m. Friday at Green Shore Park in down­town Summerside.

Ve­hi­cles will leave Cana­dian Tire in Charlottetown at 9 a.m. to tour points of in­ter­est in Eastern P.E.I. The pub­lic can view the vin­tage cars start­ing at 6 p.m. Satur­day at Burger King on Univer­sity Av­enue.

The event, hosted by Prince County Street Rod As­so­ci­a­tion and Is­land Vin­tage Cruis­ers, con­cludes with a cel­e­bra­tion at Spoke Wheel Car Mu­seum in Dun­staffnage at noon Sun­day.

Event or­ga­nizer Clarence Fos­ter would be pleased to see at least 75 ve­hi­cles tak­ing part. “The older the bet­ter,’’ he says. “The idea is to get the vin­tage cars out so peo­ple can see them and en­joy them.’’
