‘Older the better’

-

Automobile enthusiasts are being urged to join a drive into the past.

The Wheels of Time P.E.I. Road Tour runs Friday to Saturday.

The event will see vehicles leave Canadian Tire in Summerside Friday at 9 a.m. to tour points of interest in western P.E.I.

Public viewing of vehicles will be available starting at 6 p.m. Friday at Green Shore Park in downtown Summerside.

Vehicles will leave Canadian Tire in Charlottetown at 9 a.m. to tour points of interest in Eastern P.E.I. The public can view the vintage cars starting at 6 p.m. Saturday at Burger King on University Avenue.

The event, hosted by Prince County Street Rod Association and Island Vintage Cruisers, concludes with a celebration at Spoke Wheel Car Museum in Dunstaffnage at noon Sunday.

Event organizer Clarence Foster would be pleased to see at least 75 vehicles taking part. “The older the better,’’ he says. “The idea is to get the vintage cars out so people can see them and enjoy them.’’

There is no cost and no registration.
