Camp­bell ex­tends CDP driv­ing lead

Scores the fastest win of Thurs­day’s card with Nikes Cow­girl

Marc Camp­bell was on a roll again Thurs­day night at Red Shores at the Char­lot­te­town Driv­ing Park.

The “King” of Is­land rac­ing, Camp­bell scored the fastest win of the 12-dash card with Nikes Cow­girl record­ing a new life­time mark of 1:55.3.

Camp­bell trains and drives for owner James Struthers of Port Morien, N.S. Camp­bell also recorded wins with Come On Eileen in 1:57.4 for trainer Trevor Hicken of Mon­tague and Winr lose drnk dab ozei na new record of 1:58.3 for trainer Earl Watts of Hamp­shire.

Camp­bell leads all driv­ers with 68 wins so far this sea­son in Char­lot­te­town.

Likely To Win cap­tured the $2,000 fea­tured pace in 1:56.1 with Adam Merner at the con­trols for trainer Melissa Ren­nie and Nova Sco­tia own­ers Blenise Young of Long Point and Lester Camp­bell of Judique along with Jef­frey Camp­bell of Cal­gary, Alta. Den­ver Dolly was sec­ond in the top class with Camp­bell in the bike while Nar­ra­gansett com­pleted the tri­ac­tor with Ja­son Hughes driv­ing. Race broad­cast co-host and an­a­lyst Bo Ford pitched the win­ning tri­ac­tor and even the su­per­fecta on the fea­ture race to view­ers and on track play­ers.

Wal­ter Chev­erie recorded a driv­ing dou­ble on the pro­gram, in­clud­ing a $1,850 Open trot vic­tory with Osprey Im­pact in 1:58.3 for owner-trainer Paul Larrabee of Belle River. Sec­ond went to Fred­die (Camp­bell) with Dusty Lane Ja­cob (Merner) third.

Gary Chap­pell had a pair of driv­ing wins with Fe­male Fi­nesse in 1:58.3 for trainer Wil­liam White of Mur­ray River and with his own trainee, Now Whos The Queen, in 2:01.1.
