Bombers break it open

Peakes Tee tops Morell Chevies in KCBL play

The Peakes Tee Bombers broke open a tight 3-2 game with four runs in the fourth inning as they went on to defeat the Morell Chevies 7-3 in Kings County Baseball League action Wednesday.

Rob Phelan went the distance for the Bombers, striking out four in the win.

Top batters for the Bombers were Mitch Power and Connor Myers, both 2-for-4 with two RBI, and Luke MacDonald 2-for4 with an RBI.

Morell was led at the plate by Scott Harper and Mike Ellsworth, both 3-for-4 at the plate. Taylor Larking was tagged with the loss.

Clippers 11, Jays 2

The Cardigan Clippers jumped out to an early 7-0 first-inning lead and cruised to a 11-2 victory on Wednesday evening in KCBL play.

Winning pitcher Kevin MacLeod scattered seven hits, striking out seven batters in the seven-inning performanc­e. Denver Morrison was 3-for-4 for the Clippers with a bases loaded three-RBI triple.

Ben Doucette was 3-for-3 with three RBI and MacLeod was 2-for-4 with an RBI.

Cardigan had 13 hits off Chad Mackay who suffered the loss for the Jays.

Top batter for the Jays was Kris O’Brien who was 2-for-2 with a run scored.

Expos 12, Stratford 10

Tyler Johnson went the distance, striking out three batters, as the Action Aero Expos defeated the Alley Stratford 12-10 in KCBL play Wednesday night.

Stevie Collins suffered the loss while striking out eight batters.

Top batters for the Expos were Damien Lalande with two singles a triple and three RBI and Duff MacDonald with a pair of hits, three walks and two RBI.

The top batter for Stratford was Ryne MacIssac with a single, double and a triple.
