Fe­male re­porter kissed on live TV as she cov­ered mu­sic fes­ti­val

MON­TREAL — The lat­est in­ci­dent of a fe­male TV re­porter be­ing ha­rassed on the job has the fed­er­a­tion rep­re­sent­ing Que­bec jour­nal­ists call­ing for the pub­lic to be re­minded such be­hav­iour is un­ac­cept­able. Ra­dio-Canada’s Va­lerieMi­caela Bain was kissed on the cheek by an uniden­ti­fied con­cert-goer as she went live from Mon­treal’s Osheaga mu­sic fes­ti­val. Star­tled, she shoved him away and yelled at him be­fore calmly con­tin­u­ing her re­port Fri­day night. “Kiss­ing some­one with­out their con­sent is no,’’ she wrote in a Face­book post out­ing the uniden­ti­fied man with im­ages and video that was then shared nearly 8,000 times.

“You’re both­er­ing me. I’m work­ing.’’

Stephane Giroux, head of the Que­bec jour­nal­ists’ fed­er­a­tion, be­lieves it’s a clear-cut case of sex­ual ha­rass­ment.
