Firefighters from Kinkora were called to the scene of a burning cube truck off Route 1A in Bedeque, Friday morning.

No one was injured in the blaze, but it created a large plume of black smoke that could be seen from a distance.

The call went out to firefighters shortly before 11 a.m.

The truck was parked in a farmyard driveway.

When speaking with the Journal Pioneer, firefighters on the scene had not yet had time to talk with the driver and determine if the vehicle caught fire before or after it pulled into the property.

Deputy Chief Grant Desjardin said firefighters were able to quickly get the blaze under control, but the truck was carrying some combustible materials that posed an extra challenge.

The truck was also carrying some diesel fuel that leaked onto the ground. That required a visit from officials from the department of environment.

Maritime Electric also attended as the fire had damaged some nearby power lines.
