Islanders win medals
Robichaud captures silver medal while DesRoches and Daley earn bronze
Three Prince Edward Islanders have won medals at the World Police and Fire Games in Los Angeles.
Joel Robichaud of Cornwall won a silver medal in submission grappling on Friday. Robichaud is a constable with the Summerside Police Services.
Meanwhile, correctional officer Mitch DesRoches of Charlottetown and Patrick Daley, a constable with the Summerside Police Services, each won bronze medals in judo.
P.E.I. deputy sheriff Chris Townsend finished ninth in his judo division, and teammate and fisheries officer Jared Waterman of Newfoundland and Labrador had a fifth-place showing in judo.
